Dedicated to the memory of Chris Holmes

Your star burned eyeblingly bright (but far too short)

See you at the after party, much love ❤️

This site is a tribute to Chris Holmes, who was born in Warrington on June 18, 1973 to Andrew & Joan (RIP).  He was a proud and brilliant Dad(a) to Finlay who he loved above all all else.  Best big brother we could ever have hoped for to Gareth (and Katrin) Graham (and Emma) Gemma (& Ria). Fun loving uncle to Lotte, Lilly, Oliver & Tom.  He loved and was much loved by his closer family, but also his many aunts, uncles & cousins (far too many to name).  He made friends wherever he went, and some of those became part of our family too (Dan, Scott & Keith).  Married to Jane for 10 years, brother in law to Sarah & Steve, uncle to Oscar, Lucas & Ella.

He Dj’d, partied, enjoyed life with a passion, always living in the moment and finding a laugh in most things that he did .

He is much loved and will always be remembered.  I encourage you all to put your memories on here so we can share the love fun & laughter, and remember him how he would of wanted us to - with a smile on our face.

Big love❤️

Thoughts

For over 20 years you were an amazing uncle to Oscar, Lucas and Ella. Memories are so many- helping to teach them to ride a bike, incredible patience whilst they mastered the techniques of beach rounders and then seemed to forget it all the following year's beach trip! You just started all over again! My biggest thanks are for the way you on more than one occasion ran into big waves to rescue them. So many happy days with you, Jane and Finlay, both day to day and on so many holidays. They were lucky to have you🙌

Chris, You will be fondly remembered by your friends at Kenilworth Wardens, having answered the call for parents to don their whites to ensure the survival of 5th team cricket at the beginning of the 2019 season. Even though you had not played cricket for many years you happily embraced the challenge and rolled back the years suiting up as our keeper for the majority of fixtures that season. This was a role in which you showed great talent, much to our delight, with skills not lost since you were a skilled junior. You went on to take four catches, make three stumpings and have a top score of 35 with the bat. We would have loved you to have played more for us but due to geographical challenges you were only able to make the odd game or two in the past two years. However, your will to help Wardens out when in need was epitomised through completing multiple five hour round trips by car to turn out for us. You were one of us even though not playing as regularly as others may have been. Our 2022 season will be played in memory of you, our "pal". You were also a strong supporter of junior cricket. We know how much it meant to you to play senior cricket with Finlay and support his development in our great game. We will be here to support his development in cricket and beyond, as you would have wished. We'll all miss you being a great character around the clubhouse, having good chats post game and particularly debating whether you were out LBW or not! Rest in peace From everyone here at Kenilworth Wardens Cricket Club
